Kathmandu : A Yeti Airlines crash in Nepal that killed 72 people almost a year ago was caused by the pilots mistakenly cutting power leading to an aerodynamic stall, a report issued by a government-appointed investigation panel on Thursday said. The ATR 72, operated by privately owned Yeti Airlines, crashed just before landing in the tourist city of Pokhara on Jan. 15 in one of Nepal’s worst aeroplane accidents in 30 years. There were 72 people on the twin-engine aircraft including two infants, four crew and 15 foreign nationals. There were no survivors.
Manama : The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) held an interactive workshop on VAT invoices compliance, as part of its commitment to raise VAT payers’ awareness of all VAT related aspects to ensure that the VAT payers are knowledgeable about the necessary procedures for issuing VAT invoices. Manama : Deputy Director-General of Traffic Brigadier Mohammed Ali Al Darraj has announced the plans for the New Year celebrations to ensure traffic safety. The plans were arranged due to the expected traffic rush in different areas in Bahrain that host various celebrations. These include deployment in all governorates, especially at main junctions and roads with heavy traffic near celebration areas. He urged road users to follow traffic rules, including avoiding wrong parking, ensuring the safety of children by not leaving them alone, giving way to pedestrians and focusing on driving.
Manama, Dec. 27 (BNA): The Education ministry will reopen registration for students, who have reached compulsary education age, for the next academic year 2024-2025. The registration will be on 18-22 February 2024, Sunday – Thursday, in the Ministry of Education Hall in Isa Town, 8:00am – 1:00pm. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, said this aims to provide the opportunity for all students, who have reached compulsory education age, but missed the previous registration period. Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (118) of 2023, appointing a director at the Civil Service Bureau (CSB), based on a proposal by the President of the CSB. The edict stipulates the following: Article (I): Abdulrahman Abdulla Al-Shomali shall be appointed as the Director of the Policy and Regulatory Affairs Directorate at the CSB. Article (II) The President of the CSB shall implement the provisions of this edict, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.
