Manama : His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), met with Vladimir Maksimov, President of Children of Asia International Committee (CAIC). Berlin : Germany’s temporary stationary controls at the borders with Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland were extended for a further 20 days on Tuesday. German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser informed the European Commission of the extension. Manama : The Professional Standards Committee of the Arab Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (PSC-ARABOSAI) has approved a proposed mechanism submitted by the National Audit Office (NAO) of Bahrain to standardise the terminology used in translating INTOSAI professional standards into Arabic. The mechanism is based on the experiences of international accounting and auditing organizations in translating their standards into other languages. It aims to reach a common understanding of these standards by employees from Arab Supreme Audit Institutions and avoid ambiguities that may lead to a different understanding of the requirements of professional standards. Muscat : Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), led the kingdom’s delegation to the 20th meeting of the Supreme Military Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Armed Forces and the Gulf Academy for Strategic and Security Studies held in the Omani capital today. The meetings reviewed topics aimed at strengthening coordination in the military field and enhancing the defence policies among GCC states. London : King Charles and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak led Britain in remembering the country’s war dead on Sunday.
