Manama : Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), today received Lieutenant-General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander; and Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Royal Guard Special Force Commander. Vienna : Eleven people were injured when a Bulgarian cruise ship crashed into a concrete wall in a sluice on the River Danube in the northern Austrian town of Aschach an der Donau overnight, local police said on Saturday. Some 160 passengers were aboard the ship traveling from Bavaria in Germany to the Austrian city of Linz, a spokesperson for police in the nearby town of Eferding said. The 11 injured were taken to hospital and the ship was able to continue onwards after the accident, the spokesperson said.

Manama : The Bahrain International Endurance Village will host the veterinary examinations for the upcoming qualifiers of the Ramadan international endurance races, organised by the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Starting at 9:00 PM, the checks will cover international races of 100 kms, as well as local races of 100 kms, 80 kms, and 40 kms, along with the international qualifying race of 120 km. Seoul : Bus drivers in Seoul returned to work Thursday, hours after they went on the first general strike in 12 years to demand a wage hike. The Seoul Bus Labor Union reached a deal on a 4.48 percent wage hike plus 650,000 won ($482.2) in holiday bonuses with their employers under the mediation of the Seoul city government, city officials said, about 11 hours after the general strike was launched.
