Manama : The seventh edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Marine Heritage Season will kick off on Friday with the Open Water Swimming Competition (Mawrooth Swimmer). This new open water competition is part of the seventh edition of the season and is open to participants aged between 30 and 60 years. The first race is set for the 30 to 45 age group, covering a distance of 1,000 metres, while the second race, covering 800 metres, is designated for the 46 to 60 age group. London : The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence (KHGC) and the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity (HCHF) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), to launch the Leadership in Peaceful Coexistence programme. Manama Special Olympics Bahrain is participating in the first Special Olympics MENA Regional Sailing Competition, held on October 2-6. Hosted by the Dubai International Marine Club, with the support of the Dubai Sports Council and in cooperation with the Special Olympics UAE and the Special Olympics International, under the supervision of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (UAESARF). Sarajevo: Bahrain Boxing Federation achieved third place in both the 57kg and 80kg categories at the Sarajevo Trophy Tournament in Bosnia. Abu Dhabi : Emirates Global Aluminium announced that over 110 women have joined the company since Emirati Women’s Day 2023, including 67 UAE Nationals. EGA now employs over 550 women in the UAE in total, including more than 195 in operations. The company is aiming for 25% of supervisory roles to be held by women by 2025, up from around 20% this year, and 15% of all positions by 2026. Manama : The Board of Directors of Bahrain Golf Club held its Ordinary General Assembly meeting to elect a new Board of Directors. The general assembly elected Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi as the club’s president for a new four-year term.
