Manama :The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has introduced new requirements for licensed financial institutions relating to the appointment of board members and senior management. The new rules are issued under one common Module of the CBB Rulebook, replacing the “fit and proper” requirements which were previously included in the “Licensing Requirements”, “Authorisation” and “Training and Competency” Modules found across all Volumes of the CBB Rulebook. Washington : The United States authorities issued mass evacuation orders in North and South Carolina following the outbreak of more than 175 wildfires amid stormy and dry conditions complicating firefighting efforts. Henry McMaster, Governor of South Carolina, declared a state of emergency to ensure the necessary resources are available to support firefighting and emergency teams across the state. La Paz : A crash involving two buses in Bolivia left at least 37 people dead and dozens injured in the western Potosi region, police and local authorities said on Saturday. The accident happened in the early morning on the route between Uyuni and Colchani. One of the vehicles swerved into the oncoming lane. According to the preliminary investigation, the Bolivian Ministry of Government said that one of the buses encroached into the oncoming lane, presumably due to speeding, and caused the collision.
