Manama : Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has confirmed that a number of its flights were affected by the closure of London Heathrow Airport. The airline stated that it is coordinating with the relevant authorities to provide alternative travel arrangements and accommodation for affected passengers. It emphasised that the safety and security of its passengers and crew remain its top priority. Gulf Air expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the closure and highlighted that it is closely monitoring the situation to find swift solutions for its passengers as soon as possible.

London : Britain’s Heathrow Airport was shut on Friday after a huge fire at a nearby electrical substation knocked out its power, disrupting flight schedules around the world. Around 70 firefighters were tackling the blaze in the west of London, which also knocked out the area’s back-up power system, leading to a mass outage at Heathrow, Europe’s busiest and the world’s fifth-busiest airport.
