US regulators have sent a warning letter to Juul Labs, saying the e-cigarette company violated US law by promoting its products as safer than traditional cigarettes. The firm must have sign-off from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to make such a claim. The letter comes after at least five deaths in the US potentially linked to vaping products, as well as hundreds of cases of illness. Juul has yet to comment. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has suggested that the value-added tax (VAT) should be doubled from five percent to 10 percent in Saudi Arabia in consultation with the other Gulf countries.
