China has announced it will lift the lockdown on Wuhan, the city at the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic, on April 8, marking a significant milestone in its battle against the deadly outbreak. The date comes more than two months after the city was first sealed off from the outside world, in an unprecedented bid to contain the fast-spreading virus. A third person has died from Coronavirus Disease – Covid 19. The 65-year-old Bahraini man had chronic health conditions, said the Health Ministry. He was the first one to have received intensive care, said reports. A Bahraini woman, 51 years, with underlying chronic health conditions, who was brought back to the country from Iran earlier this month died on Sunday. A 65-year-old Bahraini woman died last Monday, also had chronic health conditions. She contracted the virus while in Iran.
Bahrain Police have started patrolling streets to ensure gatherings are limited to five people. The violators will be fined from BD 1,000 to BD 10,000. This follows the announcement made yesterday by Public Security chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19. This follows a directive by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty King Hamad for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and honorary president of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation. The Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation said in a statement today that following the decision the royal equestrian season for 2019-2020 has come to an end.
