Job loss, school closures, and unavailability of childcare mean that families, especially those in low-income households, need extra support. “The fallout from the pandemic – job losses, prolonged stress and a deterioration of mental health – will be felt by families for years to come,” said UNICEF Chief of Early Childhood Development Dr. Pia Rebello Britto. “For the most vulnerable children, the absence of adequate social protection systems exacerbates their exposure to the crisis.”…

The St Christopher’s school staff are using the DT workshops and machinery to make face visors for medical staff in Bahrain. Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical company has signed a deal with a South Korean conglomerate to build two chemical production plants valued at $1.8 billion in the kingdom according to ZAWYA. A collective of seven UK-based Formula 1 teams during the past two weeks, their respective technology arms and Formula 1 has made significant progress in defining and coordinating its response to the UK Government’s call for assistance with the manufacture of medical devices to help in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Malaysia’s Top Glove Corporation Bhd, which makes one in every five gloves globally, expects a product shortage as demand from Europe and the United States spikes because of the widening coronavirus outbreak is exceeding its capacity reported Reuters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is working with global manufacturers for critical supplies and distributing them domestically. “We are working with manufacturers from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, India, Honduras, and Mexico.
