Manama: Al Hilal Premier Hospital has achieved a historic milestone after being awarded the Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery accreditation by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), USA, officially becoming the only hospital in the Kingdom of Bahrain to hold this prestigious international accreditation.
The accreditation was formally received by Dr. Sharath Chandran, CEO of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, alongside Dr. Amer Alderazi, Consultant – General Surgery (Bariatric Surgery) and Group Head of Medical Services at Al Hilal Healthcare Group, during an official accreditation ceremony attended by Dr. Neil Hutcher, Chief Medical Officer of SRC, and Dr. Daniela Casagrande, Manager of International Business Development at SRC.
The SRC accreditation survey was conducted following a comprehensive evaluation of Al Hilal Premier Hospital’s facilities, infrastructure, clinical pathways, surgical outcomes, and full scope of metabolic and bariatric services, ensuring strict compliance with internationally benchmarked standards for patient safety, quality, and clinical excellence.
Globally recognized as a leading authority in surgical quality assurance and patient safety, SRC grants its Center of Excellence designation only to institutions that demonstrate superior clinical outcomes, strict adherence to evidence-based international guidelines, and a fully integrated multidisciplinary model of care. This accreditation firmly establishes Al Hilal Premier Hospital as the national reference center for metabolic and bariatric surgery in Bahrain, reflecting its leadership in delivering patient-centered, world- class surgical care.
