Manama : The organising committee of the Al Dana Drama Award announced the list of television series and artists nominated for the award in its first edition, the winners of which will be honoured during the opening of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival in its (16th) session.
The festival is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). It will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain on May 28-30, and is organised by the Ministry of Information in cooperation with Gulf Radio and Television.
The award includes 10 categories, with three nominees in each one. The nominees have been shortlisted from a pool of over 70 television series.
The jury, comprising leading GCC and Arab art critics and specialists will evaluate the entries. The winners will be announced at the opening ceremony of the festival.
The categories of the award are: best Arabic series, best social series, best comedy series, best actor and best actress in a leading role, the best rising actor and actress, and the best soundtrack.
