Under the patronage of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), the final phase of the comprehensive joint air exercise “Jund Al Samaa/1” (Sky Warriors/1) was held today.
The drill was carried out by the Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF), with the participation of a number of BDF branches and units, as well as the Ministry of Interior and the National Guard.
Air Vice-Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, RBAF Commander, delivered a statement in which he welcomed the BDF chief and praised his patronage of the final phase of the Sky Warriors/1 exercise.
He highlighted the RBAF’s steady development since its establishment on May 8, 1976, in accordance with the plan put forward by the BDF General Command, in line with the Commander-in-Chief’s directives, making it among the advanced air forces.
He affirmed the RBAF’s affiliates’ tireless efforts and determination to undertake their duties and enhance their combat readiness to defend the nation, drawing inspiration from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, thanks to whom the BDF has made major strides and reached the highest levels.
He added that the confidence of HM King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, in the RBAF’s personnel has motivated them to be more dedicated to defending the nation and supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) joint defence efforts, alongside their brethren from other BDF branches and units.
The RBAF Commander paid tribute to all the participants for their dedicated efforts throughout the drill, which ensured its outstanding success.
The BDF Commander-in-Chief watched the final stage of the joint air drill, stressing that the exercise had achieved its forecast goals, as it enhanced the participants’ military competence and combat readiness. He praised the spirit of cooperation and coordination that had prevailed throughout the Sky Warriors/1 exercise, stressing the importance of holding such drills in gaining experience and maintaining a high level of preparedness.
The BDF chief extended deepest congratulations to HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, on the BDF’s landmark achievements. He also congratulated the BDF servicemen for their dedication to serving HM the King, the Kingdom and the Bahraini people.
Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa affirmed that the BDF, which is the kingdom’s fortified defensive shield, and boasts a long history laden with glory, achievements and round-the-clock combat and administrative readiness, is committed to continue undertaking its national duties with efficiency and competence.
It will also continue carrying out various drills that bring together military and security institutions in the kingdom, he said, adding that the BDF is a leader in enhancing joint GCC military action.
Lieutenant-General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, National Guard Staff Director, and a number of senior BDF officers attended the drill.
