Manama : IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain concluded with thrilling races, as Team Bahrain Victorious dominated the women’s category, securing the coveted gold and medals, while Marten Van Riel of Belgium emerged as the men’s champion. The event, held on Reef Island in the Kingdom of Bahrain, witnessed an impressive display of athleticism and fierce competition among participants representing 88 countries from around the world.

Martin Van Riel, representing Belgium, completed the arduous course, comprising swimming, cycling, and running, in 3 hours, 31 minutes, and 21 seconds. In second place came Henri Schoeman of Team Bahrain Victorious, clocking 3 hours, 32 minutes, and 50 seconds, followed by Max Stapley, who posted a time of 3 hours, 34 minutes and 20 seconds.

In the women’s category, Team Bahrain Victorious dominated the competition, with
Kat Matthews achieving an extraordinary performance to claim the gold medal. She exhibited unwavering determination and strength, crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 3 hours, 59 minutes, and 7 seconds. Her teammate, Amelia Watkinson, demonstrated her exceptional abilities, securing the second position with a time of 3 hours, 59 minutes, and 43 seconds. Third place went to Caroline who finished in 4 hours and 17 seconds.

The team competition further highlighted Bahrain’s prowess, as the KHK team secured first place in the men’s category, while the TFT team emerged as champions in the women’s category.
