Manama : Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, has affirmed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s sound vision, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has promoted Bahrain’s status as a land of tolerance, coexistence, peace, and dialogue.
In a statement marking International Day for Tolerance, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasised the kingdom’s commitment to tolerance, highlighting its numerous initiatives, including the Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration on respecting religious freedoms, the establishment of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, and hosting international conferences for religious and civilisational dialogue, earning Bahrain global recognition and praise.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla underlined HM the King’s call to criminalise hate speech and contempt of religion, as well as the inauguration of the King Hamad Peaceful Coexistence Award and numerous humanitarian initiatives based on tolerance to avoid violence, end conflicts, and achieve stability and prosperity.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees affirmed that Bahrain is an oasis of peaceful oasis coexistence among the followers of various religions and cultures, promoting harmony and cognitive integration.
He emphasised the kingdom’s commitment to peace, combating extremism, and rejecting violence and racism, highlighting its role in promoting harmony and coexistence.
Bahrain is committed to tolerance, preserving rights and freedoms, and ensuring religious rituals for all religions and beliefs, he said.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasised the significance of enhancing tolerance, cultivating a culture of mutual respect, and promoting communication and rapprochement among new generations.
The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence emphasises tolerance and its moral power to end violence, promote understanding, and ensure a common future.
The centre will continue promoting the enlightened royal approach on the importance of tolerance and coexistence, stressing that Bahrain is the voice of moderation and wisdom and the land of peace and human fraternity, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla said.
