Manama: Shifa Al Jazeera Hospital concluded its observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a series of seminars, awareness classes, discussions, and lectures. These events were organized both within the hospital and in collaboration with various organizations throughout the month of October.
The closing program featured a breast awareness seminar held in association with the Bahrain Cancer Society and the Indian Ladies Association at Shifa Al Jazeera Hospital. Ahmed Ali Al Nowakada, the Executive Manager of the Bahrain Cancer Society, was the chief guest at the event, which was presided over by Sharada Ajith, the President of the Indian Ladies Association. Dr. Sai Giridhar, the Hospital Chief Operating Officer, delivered a speech, with Sr Rachel, the IP and OT Administrator, extending a warm welcome to the attendees. A vote of thanks was given by Ancy Achan Kunju, the Quality Manager.
During the seminar, Dr. Shyni Suseelan, the Consultant Gynaecologist, provided valuable insights on breast cancer and the importance of early detection. Dr. Anisababy Najeeb, a Consultant Radiologist, addressed participants’ doubts and concerns. Also, Dr. Tejinder Sarna, the General Secretary of the Indian Ladies Association, shared tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
As part of the awareness programs, a variety of events were organized in collaboration with the University of Applied Science and NEC, as well as in partnership with the ladies wing of the Kozhikode Community Association, 973 Lounge, Go Alive Media, the Indian Ladies Association, and the Bahrain Cancer Society throughout the month. On October 27, the hospital conducted the Pink Shifa program, which included two awareness classes. Participants were also offered free medical check-ups and a 50 percent discount on breast ultrasounds and mammograms.
