Manama : Members of Bharathi Association, a registered association serving the Tamil community in Bahrain and functioning under the guidelines of the Ministry of Social Development, had the privilege of meeting His Excellency Dr. Pradeep Singh Raj Purohit, the newly appointed Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the Indian Embassy in Bahrain on 21 October 2026.
Bharathi Association representatives warmly welcomed His Excellency by presenting him with a traditional shawl and a bouquet of flowers, conveying the Association’s heartfelt greetings and best wishes on his new appointment.
During the meeting, the members engaged in an extensive and fruitful exchange of views on the leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the living conditions and welfare of the Tamil community, and the respect, dignity and hospitality extended by the Government and people of Bahrain to the Indian community, including Tamils.The interaction also provided a valuable opportunity for the Association’s representatives to share their views and discuss matters concerning the welfare, interests and well-being of the Tamil community and the wider Indian diaspora in Bahrain.
Describing the meeting, Mr. Abdul Qaiyum, General Secretary of Bharathi Association, said, “It was a truly pleasant and fulfilling interaction. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet His Excellency and exchange views on matters of importance to the Tamil community and the wider Indian diaspora in Bahrain.
Mr. Shaik Basheer Ahamed, on behalf of Bharathi Association, and members of the Association’s Executive Committee were present in the meeting. Barathi Association conveyed its sincere congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency for a successful and fruitful tenure. The representatives also expressed their hope that the longstanding friendship and strong bilateral relations between India and Bahrain would continue to strengthen, fostering greater cooperation, mutual understanding and goodwill between the two countries.
The meeting concluded on a warm and cordial note, with the delegation expressing its sincere appreciation to His Excellency and wishing him every success in his distinguished diplomatic service in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
