Manama : Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, announced that the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has opened registration for its monthly Fixed Billing System until October 31, in implementation of an order by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The order grants Bahraini citizens in their first residences an exceptional opportunity to register retroactively, effective from May 2026. The full difference between bills issued from May to September 2026 and the average monthly bill will be credited to their accounts with the authority.
The minister said the order reflects HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s continued commitment to addressing citizens’ needs, supporting family stability and expanding the options available to Bahraini households.
He added that the Fixed Billing System offers subscribers flexibility in paying their bills, as registration does not entail automatic deductions. Subscribers can choose their preferred payment method from among the authority’s approved channels.
The system allows Bahraini citizens in their first residences to pay a fixed monthly amount for electricity and water based on their average monthly bills, helping them manage household expenses and avoid fluctuations in bill amounts throughout the year.
