Manama : Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour, Minister of Legal Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), said the Kingdom of Bahrain’s retention of Tier 1 status for the ninth consecutive year in the US Department of State’s annual Trafficking in Persons Report reflects its sustained efforts to combat human trafficking.
Khalaf said Bahrain continues to develop legislation and policies in line with international standards, strengthen workplace protections, and safeguard the rights of employers and workers.
He commended coordination among the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Supreme Judicial Council, Public Prosecution, and LMRA in strengthening prevention, protection, and enforcement measures.
