Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a cable of congratulations from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim extended congratulations to His Majesty the King on the SCW’s Silver Jubilee and 25th anniversary.
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim said the occasion is a cherished national milestone being celebrated this year under the theme “25 Years at the Heart of the Reform Project”, coinciding with His Majesty the King’s declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Isa Al Kabeer”, in celebration of the founder of the modern state and the leader of the modern institutional development, His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies. The occasion reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s deep historical roots and the continuity of its national approach to institution-building and comprehensive development under His Majesty’s leadership and vision.
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim highlighted the SCW’s achievements since its establishment by His Majesty the King, noting its role in strengthening the position of Bahraini women and promoting their role as equal partners in national development. Her Royal Highness added that the SCW had become a leading institution nationally, regionally and internationally in developing policies and strategies, proposing legislation, and launching initiatives and programmes to empower women and Bahraini families, guided by His Majesty’s vision, which established an approach making investment in people and women’s empowerment key to the reform project.
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim expressed pride in the prominent position Bahraini women have achieved and their successes across leading positions in various sectors, noting that they had become an example of competence and excellence nationally and internationally, due to His Majesty the King’s support. Her Royal Highness also commended the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for implementing His Majesty’s vision through policies and programmes that promote equal opportunities, balanced partnership between women and men, and greater participation by women in development and decision-making.
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim said in the cable that, as the SCW marks its 25th anniversary, Her Royal Highness recalled the national achievements that have become an integral part of the Kingdom’s development process. Her Royal Highness affirmed to His Majesty the King that the Council would continue to fulfil its national mission with dedication and responsibility by developing high-quality initiatives, strengthening partnerships with national, regional and international institutions, and looking ahead to the future in line with national development priorities. Her Royal Highness said this would translate His Majesty’s vision into action by strengthening the position of Bahraini women as active partners in building the nation and contributing to its prosperity and progress.
HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim added that the SCW would remain a leading national institution that builds on its achievements and works with responsibility and innovation to advance Bahrain’s model of women’s empowerment, protect families, and promote the values of justice and equal opportunity, supporting sustainable development and strengthening the Kingdom’s standing as a modern and civilised nation.
His Majesty the King sent a reply thanking HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim for the cable of congratulations, expressing pride in the SCW’s 25th anniversary and Silver Jubilee. His Majesty recalled ordering its establishment early on to advance women’s affairs and support the important role played by Her Royal Highness in building a just society where the contributions of women and men stand on an equal footing.
His Majesty the King commended HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim’s efforts in advancing the role of Bahraini women, noting the progress achieved under Her Royal Highness’ leadership was a source of admiration and pride.
His Majesty the King highlighted that the occasion coincides with Bahrain’s celebration of 2026 as the “Year of Isa Al Kabeer”, commemorating His Highness Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa and highlighting the continuity of the Kingdom’s development and achievements across generations. His Majesty said this reflected the Bahrain’s continued commitment to building a state based on institutions, the rule of law and citizenship, where women hold a prominent position and play important developmental roles.
His Majesty the King thanked HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim for the cable and affirmed Her Royal Highness’ positive role in advancing Bahraini women and building a society based on justice, competence and balance.
His Majesty the King also expressed appreciation for Her Royal Highness’ efforts and those of the SCW and its members, wishing them continued success.
