Manama : Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, announced the launch of the revamped Lamea Junior programme under the umbrella of the Lamea Association, as part of the Youth City 2030 activities.
The initiative marks a qualitative step aimed at developing leadership, communication and teamwork skills among youth aged 12 to 14, while preparing a promising generation with the confidence and ability to express themselves and participate effectively.
Minister Tawfiqi said that the launch of Lamea Junior reflects the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), which focuses on investing in national talent from an early age and providing opportunities for young people to discover their potential and refine their skills in an environment that encourages learning, experimentation and creativity.
She noted that the programme returns this year to mirror the experience of the national Lamea project through a track tailored to the targeted age group. The programme includes advanced selection stages designed to identify promising talent and provide participants with a comprehensive training experience focused on character building and strengthening communication, presentation, public speaking and teamwork skills.
The minister said that Lamea Junior aims to instil the values of leadership, responsibility and commitment among young people and enhance their ability to express their ideas with confidence and clarity through training workshops, interactive challenges and field visits to leading national institutions, broadening their understanding of work environments and achievement in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
She added that the programme represents a qualitative advancement in empowering young people by offering an early experience inspired by the values and methodology established by the national Lamea project in identifying talent and developing young leaders. She noted that investing in this age group contributes to building a promising national base capable of continuing the Kingdom’s development journey and participating in shaping its future.
Those wishing to join the Lamea Junior programme may register through the Lamea Authority website from June 15 to 21, and benefit from the programme’s specialised experience in developing the skills of youth.
