Manama : His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, said that Gulf Youth Day, which falls on 6 June each year, marks an important occasion to celebrate the distinguished achievements of young people in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, which have contributed to advancing development and strengthening the GCC states’ position as a global model in empowering young people and investing in their potential.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad noted that these achievements are an extension of the wise visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the leaders of the GCC states, who made young people key partners in shaping the future and a central focus of sustainable development plans.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad explained that the continuous support and patronage provided to Gulf youth by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has contributed to creating an environment that supports and encourages creativity and innovation, enabling young people to transform their ideas and aspirations into initiatives, projects and achievements with a tangible impact across various fields. His Highness affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has accorded young people significant attention and placed them at the forefront of its priorities through initiatives and programmes aimed at empowering them, developing their capabilities and honing their skills, thereby strengthening their role as active partners in development and nation-building.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad noted that Bahraini and Gulf youth have proven that success is not measured by the scale of the challenges they face, but by the determination they carry within themselves. His Highness noted that younger generations in the GCC states possess a mindset that believes every obstacle presents an opportunity, every challenge offers a new avenue for achievement, and that the path to the future is not forged by waiting for ideal circumstances, but by creating opportunities from the heart of challenges.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad added that Gulf youth have not viewed global changes as constraints that hinder ambition, but rather as new avenues for innovation and development. They have succeeded in transforming challenges into inspiring success stories, ideas into impactful projects, and ambitions into achievements that leave a lasting impact, presenting an advanced model of awareness, resilience and the ability to shape the future.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad concluded by emphasising that Gulf Youth Day is a celebration of a generation that believes achievement begins with an idea, and that the impossible is merely a word that yields to determination and hard work; a generation that carries the banner of development and progress with confidence and continues to build a brighter and more prosperous future for its nation, the Gulf states and the world.
