Manama : His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), reviewed the Club’s preparations for the upcoming His Majesty the King’s Cup Festival, scheduled for 5 and 6 March 2026.
This review took place during His Highness’s attendance at the 21st race of the 2025/2026 racing season, which featured cups named after His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Sultan bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, as well as the Horse Welfare Authority Cup, held at the REHC’s racecourse.

The event was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment and Deputy Chairman of the REHC High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Winners of the race cups were honoured as His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented the Cup for Apprentice Jockeys to the winning trainer, Adel Abdullah. His Highness Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa awarded the fifth round trophy to His Highness Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Additionally, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented the first round trophy to trainer Adel Abdullah and the second round trophy to trainer Paul Smith.
His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa awarded the sixth round trophy to the winning owner, Abdullah Fawzi Nass. Yusuf Osama Buheji, a member of the REHC High Committee and Acting Chief Executive Officer, presented the seventh round trophy to trainer Ali Jan and the eighth round trophy to owner Abduljalil Salman Hasan.
Yousif Al Essa, CEO of the Horse Welfare Authority, presented the fourth round trophy to winning owner Hasan Mefrih Al Ajmi.
The race attracted a large public turnout, with attendees enjoying the festive atmosphere of the second race of Ramadan nights, characterised by excitement, intense competition, and accompanying entertainment activities.
