Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued Edict (79) of 2025, amending Article (1) of Decision No. (26) of 2008 concerning fees for the issuance and renewal of work permits and residency permits for the families of foreign workers.
The Edict was issued based on the recommendation of the Minister of Labour, Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, and following Cabinet approval.
Article (I)
Article 1 of Decision No. 26 of 2008 is replaced as follows:
Fees payable by employers for each work permit or its renewal, covering the work permit, entry visa, no-objection certificate, residency permit, return visa, medical examination, and ID card, as well as the monthly fees for each foreign worker, shall be as follows:

The annual fee will be collected proportionally to the duration of the work permit issued by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority.
Article (II)
All provisions conflicting with this edict are repealed.
Article (III)
The Minister of Labour, Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, and all concerned authorities shall implement the provisions of this edict. It shall take effect from 1 January 2026, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
