Cairo : Bahrain’s under-16 basketball team won the 22nd Arab U16 Championship after defeating Algeria 81–63 in the final in Cairo.
It is the first Arab title in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s basketball history, highlighting the sport’s growth and strong youth talent.
The team had earlier beaten Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Kuwait and hosts Egypt on their way to the final.
The players recently also secured the Gulf Championship, qualifying for the Asian Cup in Mongolia this September, a qualifier for the FIBA U16 Asian Championship.
