Manama : Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, announced the launch of the “Exceptional Volunteer” initiative, aimed at honoring 25 outstanding Bahraini youth in the field of voluntary work.
The initiative will coincide with Bahraini Youth Day, observed annually on March 25, in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the community and in promoting a spirit of giving.
The minister noted that the initiative aligns with the policies of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), chaired by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. These policies aim to enhance voluntary work, support youth contributing to their communities, and highlight inspiring young figures who have made a tangible positive impact through their determination and initiatives.
Tawfiqi invited Bahraini youth to participate in this initiative, which aims to amplify their role in voluntary work, showcase their capabilities, enhance their community contributions, and highlight their achievements.
The “Exceptional Volunteer” initiative seeks to encourage the concept of voluntary work among youth and inspire volunteers by emphasizing the importance and ethics of volunteering.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs outlined volunteering domains, including environment, culture, health, sports, relief, education, and other areas where youth actively contribute.
Registration for participation will open on December 24 and close on January 23, 2025 through the ministry’s website. Applications will undergo review, evaluation, and selection by a judging committee, with winners announced during the Bahraini Youth Day celebration.
