Manama : A delegation from the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) arrived in Bahrain to review preparations by the organising committee for the upcoming IWF World Championships. The event, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), will take place from December 4-15 near the Bahrain National Theatre.
The delegation, led by Achilleas Tsogas, CEO of IWF, includes Matyas Lencser, Competition Manager; Timea Horvath, Development and Education Manager; and Pedro Meloni, Technical Advisor for Competitions.
The visit began with a tour of the championship venue, where the delegation received an update on site readiness and the final preparation timeline.
The delegation also held a series of meetings with committees, including technical, media, medical, anti-doping, awards ceremony, and hospitality committees.
