Manama : The Second meeting of Joint Working Group (JWG) on cooperation in the field of healthcare between Republic of India and Kingdom of Bahrain was held on Tuesday, 21 January 2025.
- It may be recalled that the JWG was set up under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 15th July 2018 on cooperation in the field of healthcare between Republic of India and Kingdom of Bahrain. The first meeting was held in February 2022.
- The 2nd meeting of JWG was co-chaired by Ms V. Hekali Zhimomi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Republic of India and H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Ali Al Nawakhda, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Health, Kingdom of Bahrain.
- During meeting, both sides explored avenues of cooperation in ‘exchange of Medical Professionals & other experts’; ‘exchange of expertise in the field of electronic consultations, tele-medicine and artificial intelligence in the medical field and Digital Transformation’; ‘Medical Value Travel’; ‘Cooperation in Regulation of pharmaceuticals, vaccines and medical devices including Clinical trials’ and ‘Cost control in Healthcare’.
- The 2nd meeting of JWG on Healthcare Cooperation reflects the commitment of both countries towards working together in the field of health and pharmaceuticals as agreed in the 4th meeting of High Joint Commission (HJC) held in December 2024.
