Manama : Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, the Minister of Youth Affairs, has launched the Youth Leadership Programme.
This initiative aims to boost entrepreneurial talents and youth startups in Bahrain by providing a platform for them to showcase their products and projects to the public, the minister said.
The launch event was attended by representatives from key organisations like the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB), and the Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah).
The minister highlighted the importance of cooperation in empowering the kingdom’s youth.
Speaking at the launch of the Youth Leadership Programme, she underscored how collaboration with Riyadat Mall will provide young people with opportunities to acquire knowledge, develop skills, and promote their innovative business ideas stressing that this modern programme is designed to support the growth of youth projects and contribute to Bahrain’s economic development.
Dalal Al Ghais, the CEO of the Bahrain Development Bank Group, expressed the bank’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, especially among young people.
She emphasised the positive impact of supporting and developing youth projects on society and the economy. Al Ghais highlighted the bank’s enthusiasm for collaborating with the Youth Leadership Programme to provide comprehensive support to participating projects, wishing them success in their entrepreneurial endeavours Adel Khaled, the Head of Properties at Edamah Company, highlighted the transformative role of Riyadat Mall beyond being a shopping destination.
He emphasised its role as a catalyst for the growth of youth-led companies, noting that by integrating this vision into the Riyadat Youth Programme, the mall aims to attract startups that thrive in a competitive environment through self-reliance, innovation, expertise, and valuable contributions to the economy.
This initiative seeks to create an environment where young entrepreneurs can flourish and make significant economic contribution, he added.
The programme provides practical workshops on inventory management, customer service, sales, and marketing strategies. It fosters innovation, creativity, and encourages idea implementation. Participants can test and refine their business models in a realistic setting, learning to adapt strategies to changing market conditions effectively.
The programme underscores Bahrain’s commitment to empowering youth by providing them with tools, knowledge, and opportunities to become successful entrepreneurs who contribute its economic growth.
