Manama,– Vedhik AI Schools, powered by iLearningEngines, in collaboration with Bobsco Edu, successfully hosted the Pentathlon 2024 International Olympiads, the largest academic competition ever held in the Middle East. The event, conducted at Adhari Park, Manama.
It tested students’ knowledge across five subjects— English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and General Knowledge—drawing participants from multiple countries. The historic competition attracted dignitaries from Bahrain and beyond, with students competing in three categories based on their grade levels.
The event was graced by numerous distinguished dignitaries, including HE Dr. Mariam Al Dhaen, Member of Parliament, Southern Governorate, Kingdom of Bahrain, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included HE Ahmed Al Salloom, Vice-President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) and Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee; HE Mohamed Hussain Al Janahi, Member of Parliament, Central Governorate of Bahrain; HE Yusuf Yaqoob Lori, Director of Information and Follow-Up Department, Capital Governorate of Bahrain; Mr. Babu Sebastian, Chancellor of Vedhik Group of Companies; Mr. Boban Thomas, Chairman & Managing Director of Bobsco Holdings; Mr. Denny Thomas Vattakunnel, Chairman & Managing Director of Santa Monica Study Abroad; Mr. James Mattam, CEO of Vedhik Group of Companies; and Mr. CM Junith, CEO of PECA International.
Commenting on the success of the event, HE Dr. Mariam Al Dhaen stated that, “Bahrain takes immense pride in its education system and the academic achievements of its students.
Hosting the first-ever Pentathlon International Olympiads allowed to showcase the talents and skills of young minds from across the world, and we are thrilled to continue this tradition in the years to come.”
The Olympiad, the first international competition of its kind in the region powered by AI technology, saw students from Grades 6 to 12 competing in five challenging academic
subjects. Each subject was designed to test knowledge and proficiency, fostering a spirit of global collaboration and excellence. The Asia Book of Records has recognized this event as the largest international Olympiad held for five subjects at a single venue.

The Grand Prize of 1,000 BHD was awarded to Mohamed Abdul Aziz from Ibn Alhaytham Islamic School. Other top performers included Eduard Matteus L Tangug from Philippine School and Rachana Redla from Bahrain Indian School.
