Dubai : His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, visited the 19th edition of Dubai Airshow 2025 at Dubai World Central.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid toured the exhibition, which is one of the world’s leading platforms for aviation, defence and space, and was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, along with a number of senior officials.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was briefed on the latest technologies and innovations presented by regional and international companies, noting that supporting technological development and enhancing the aviation sector’s competitiveness are key pillars of the UAE’s progress. His Highness emphasised the importance of continued investment in smart infrastructure and advanced airports to ensure the sector’s readiness for future developments.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the tour included several main pavilions showcasing the latest civil and military aircraft, sustainable and hybrid aviation technologies, and advanced air mobility solutions. His Highness was also briefed on projects aimed at improving air travel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid viewed the Chinese C919 passenger aircraft during its Middle East debut, where he was briefed on its design, fuel efficiency and operational performance. His Highness also visited the CATIC pavilion, which reflects UAE-China cooperation in aviation, the Strata pavilion showcasing Emirati innovation in aircraft components, the EDGE pavilion, the LODD pavilion, and concluded his visit at the Dubai South pavilion.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said Dubai Airshow serves as a global platform bringing together decision-makers and innovators in aviation and aerospace, highlighting that the UAE continues to invest in this vital sector as part of its vision to build a knowledge-based, technology-driven economy. His Highness expressed pride in the wide international participation and the notable Emirati achievements, reiterating the commitment to maintaining Dubai’s position as a global meeting point and a hub for the future.
The current edition is the largest in the event’s history, featuring more than 1,500 exhibitors, including 440 first-time participants, around 148,000 visitors, and 490 military and civil delegations from 115 countries, in addition to over 200 aircraft on flying and static display.
