Abu Dhabi : His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, held talks today with Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, on the strategic relations between the UAE and the United States and the joint efforts to strengthen and expand them across various fields to serve their shared interests. The discussions also covered regional and international topics of common interest.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the meeting took place at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, where His Highness received the US President, who is on a state visit to the UAE. His Highness welcomed the President and highlighted the importance of the visit in advancing strategic cooperation between the two countries at all levels. He also expressed appreciation for the positive approach expressed by the US President towards enhancing UAE-US relations since assuming office, based on a shared vision for progress and prosperity.
WAM added that His Highness discussed with President Donald Trump prospects for cooperation and opportunities to expand their scope, particularly in investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, industry, and other areas that support future prosperity.
The two leaders also discussed a number of regional and international topics of shared interest, focusing on developments in the Middle East, particularly efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and contain regional escalation that threatens the region’s security and stability. His Highness stressed the importance of continuing these efforts and advancing the political track to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace based on the two state solution, which guarantees security and stability for all peoples of the region.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised that the UAE and the United States share a strong friendship and strategic partnership built on solid foundations of mutual trust, respect, and shared interests, in addition to a long history of cooperation in political, economic, cultural, and other fields.
He also underscored the UAE’s commitment to further strengthen its cooperation with the United States, in light of their shared views on working to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East and globally, and building an effective international position to address shared global challenges. This, he said, reflects the UAE’s consistent approach of supporting peace, stability, and development regionally and globally through collective multilateral action.
The two sides emphasised their keenness to continue strengthening their strategic cooperation, in line with the shared commitment of their leaderships to further develop bilateral relations in a way that serves mutual interests.
His Highness stated that the UAE and the United States have shared a strong friendship over several decades, during which the UAE has remained a trusted partner of the United States. He underscored the UAE’s commitment to continuing to strengthen this friendship and joint cooperation in all efforts that support peace and stability in the region and the world.
On his part, the US President commended the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasising that relations between the UAE and the United States have reached their highest level and continue to progress.
His Highness and the US President also witnessed the announcement of a 1-gigawatt artificial intelligence data centre, which is part of a joint AI complex between the UAE and the United States.
