Rome : His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, met with Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, at the headquarters of the Italian government in Rome.
HE the Prime Minister, emphasised the importance of the visit in enhancing bilateral relations and advancing cooperation. Both sides discussed means to enhance cooperation between the two countries as part of their strategic partnership.
Both sides reviewed the development of UAE-Italy relations, particularly in the domains of economy, investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, sustainability, and cultural cooperation, reflecting the depth of their strategic partnership.
HH the President highlighted the UAE’s commitment to further developing this partnership, noting that non-oil trade volume between the two countries reached USD 14.1 billion in 2024, marking a 21.2% increase compared to 2023. His Highness expressed hope for continued growth in trade exchange and the enhancing of cooperation in key sectors such as sustainability and innovation.
HH the President also highlighted the importance of cultural exchange between the two countries, affirming that the UAE’s USD 40 billion investment in Italy contributes to shared development and prosperity.
On her part, HE the Prime Minister emphasised her country’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the UAE in a way that serves mutual interests and further develops bilateral relations.
