Manama : Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, received the 2025 Leadership in Tourism Award from Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fuhaid, President of the Arab Tourism Organisation, affiliated with the League of Arab States, during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The award was in recognition of Bahrain’s progress in the tourism sector and its positive impact on Arab tourism more broadly.
The minister highlighted that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to enhance its position on the regional and international tourism map.
She expressed her appreciation to the Arab Tourism Organisation for the award, emphasising Bahrain’s commitment to working closely with Arab countries to enhance tourism cooperation and launch joint initiatives to promote the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab region as a unified tourist destination.
Al Sairafi added that the award reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to develop the tourism sector as a key pillar of sustainable development. She pointed to achievements in tourism indicators, including the increase in tourist nights, revenue growth, and the sector’s rising contribution to GDP. She underscored Bahrain’s continued efforts to achieve national goals and meet aspirations for the benefit of the Kingdom and its citizens.
On his part, Dr. Bandar bin Fahid Al Fahid commneded Bahrain’s role in advancing Arab tourism and its efforts to achieve sustainable development, noting the award recognises the Kingdom’s contribution to tourism and investment. He expressed hope for further cooperation among member states.
