Taipei : At least three people were killed and 11 others injured late on Friday in an armed attack in Taiwan, according to local authorities.
Taiwan’s national news agency reported that a man carrying a knife and smoke bombs launched a random attack on crowds in the capital, Taipei. Police said the suspect later died after jumping from the sixth floor of a department store building and was pronounced dead at hospital.
Local authorities said the suspect threw smoke bombs near an underground exit at Taipei Main Station, close to the city’s main railway station, before attacking people at random with a sharp object.
