Manama: The Indian Club is all set to host ‘The Bahrain International Series Badminton Tournament 2023’; in association with The Bahrain Badminton & Squash Federation, and Approved by BWF & Badminton Asia, from 14th to 19th November 2023, and will play a lead role in Bahrain’s international badminton events.
The Tournament has attracted record entries of more than 200 internationally-ranked players from around 26 different countries, making it the largest International Series badminton tournament held in Bahrain. Players and badminton lovers will be flying into the Kingdom from all around the world to witness this world-class sporting event.
The largest number of players are participating from India – in addition to the ‘home’ Bahraini players, other countries representing include Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Dutch, Finland, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Spain, Syria, Thailand, Sri Lanka, USA, UAE, Vietnam, and many more.
The Tournament will feature all major categories – Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles & Mixed Doubles. The Total prize money for the Tournament is 5,000 USD. Matches will commence at 9:00 am every day on the Indian Club’s two international standard courts at the Indian Club & continue through to a daily 9 pm finish; the Grand Finals Day is set for Sunday 19th November 2023.
Last year also the badminton fraternity enjoyed International Series 2022 due to the quality of the games & the expectation for this year is much higher due to the higher-ranking player’s participation in International Series 2023.
