Phnom Penh : Thailand and Cambodia announced that they have agreed on an immediate ceasefire following weeks of fierce border clashes between the two countries.
In a joint statement issued by the General Border Committee, the two sides said the ceasefire would take effect from 12:00 noon local time and would cover all types of weapons, as well as civilian and military targets, across all areas.
Thailand’s state television reported that Thai Defence Minister Natthaphon Narkphanit and his Cambodian counterpart Tea Seiha signed the joint statement confirming the ceasefire agreement.
