Manama : Yaser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs and Chairman of Bahrain Tender Board, issued Circular (3) for 2024 regarding the procurement plan as part of the Tender Board’s efforts to enhance the readiness of suppliers and contractors to submit their bids and expand their participation in government tenders and auctions. This is in addition to improving procedures for organising, managing, and planning government tenders and auctions.
This circular is part of the ongoing efforts adopted by the Board to improve government procurement procedures in line with the best international standards and practices in this field.
The Chairman said that this circular aims to enhance the participation of suppliers and contractors in government tenders. Based on the principles of efficiency and transparency in institutional work, the Tender Board continues to adopt and implement the best practices in the field of government tenders and procurement, which is reflected in providing services to the disposing entities, suppliers, and contractors and simplifying tender and auction procedures in a sustainable institutional manner, in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which aims to create a more competitive and sustainable economy.
This circular informs contractors and suppliers of the tender and auction plans that will be offered during the coming year to enhance their capabilities and support them in distributing their resources. This will enable them to plan effectively to participate in government tenders. It also encourages more suppliers and contractors to participate in tenders and auctions. This emphasises the importance of the role of the private sector as a key partner that contributes to achieving sustainable development and strengthening the national economy.
This measure aims to ensure pre-planning, obtaining necessary approvals, expanding options available to disposing entities in obtaining bids that match their needs, enhancing competitiveness in the offered prices, and accelerating the completion of projects.
