Manama : The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announced the opening of applications for its programme directed at individuals with innovative ideas and those aspiring to enter the field of entrepreneurship, the Mashroo3i programme. The aim is to advance the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Kingdom and encourage Bahraini youth to engage in this field and transform their innovative ideas into entrepreneurial projects.
Through this programme, Tamkeen offers Bahrainis with feasible business ideas, idea-stage startups, or early-stage startups the opportunity to join an intensive advisory programme focused on learning and mastering entrepreneurial skills and abilities, and providing participants with the necessary tools to develop their innovative ideas into a business model or a successful company. Notably, this edition of the programme will feature two tracks, with one track offering training in Arabic and another in English, to further open the door for participation and benefit from the programme.
Khalid Al Bayat, Chief Growth Officer at Tamkeen, emphasised the importance of supporting entrepreneurship and continuing to launch programmes and initiatives that encourage Bahraini innovators to take the step and enter the world of entrepreneurship. He said: “We are proud of the outcomes of the Mashroo3i programme over the past years and look forward to even greater success. The importance of this programme lies in providing tailored guidance and mentorship to help transform a project from an idea into reality, under the supervision of experts and specialists in entrepreneurship who accompany the participant throughout their journey. These ideas are transformed into entrepreneurial projects that contribute to creating job opportunities for local talent and advancing the Kingdom’s economic development.”
The Mashroo3i programme offers finalists the opportunity to receive support from Tamkeen to cover the costs related to the materials and services needed by the entrepreneur to develop and launch the project. The support will be disbursed in phases based on achieving the agreed project objectives. The support covers the following elements according to the results of the advisory programme: machinery and equipment, marketing, technology, minimum viable product (MVP) design, and patent.
This programme comes in line with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2025, which focus on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahraini citizens in the private sector, equipping Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development in the private sector, and prioritising enterprise growth, digitisation, and sustainability.
