Seville : Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), delivered a statement today during the High-Level General Debate of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4). The conference, held in Seville in Spain from June 30 to July 3, featured high-level participation from heads of state, government leaders, and ministers.
In her remarks, she highlighted Bahrain’s pioneering efforts in financing development, underscoring the vital role of the Kingdom’s dynamic financial services sector which serves as a key driver of innovation, a foundation for human capital investment, and a central pillar of sustainable financing in line with the forward-looking visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Minister Alkhulaif further emphasised the importance of financial technology in advancing financial inclusion. She reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering commitment to continuing its digital transformation journey through the adoption of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. This journey is guided by a comprehensive national vision focused on developing human capital and enhancing the participation of all, particularly in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Alkhulaif concluded her statement by reaffirming that sustainable development is a shared responsibility, one that requires stronger international cooperation and broader global partnerships. She also stressed the importance of building a more inclusive and equitable global financial system to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, and reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to innovation and joint action to accelerate progress and promote sustainable development and inclusive growth for all.
