Manama : Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Social Fund chaired the National Social Fund board meeting.
The meeting was attended by Social Development Ministry representatives, High Committee for the Care of People with Disabilities, National Commission for Childhood, National Committee for the Elderly and Education Ministry representatives.
The meeting discussed topics on the agenda, followed up the implementation of the Fund’s general policy, and reviewed developments in the budget for services supported by the Fund.
The meeting also reviewed the future plan for developing the Fund’s work and its resources with the aim of improving the services it provides, based on the principles of community partnership.
The minister stressed the importance of the National Social Fund’s role for its services targeting groups of people of determination, elderly, children and families.
He expressed his appreciation for the efforts made to improve the Fund’s work, and said the next stage will witness a qualitative development in the Fund’s work and more cooperation to deliver its goals.
.The National Social Fund is tasked with supporting and financing projects and services related to childhood development, caring for the elderly, and rehabilitating and educating people with disabilities, as well as supporting and financing the services necessary for family development.
It also supports and finances all civil organisations and institutions concerned with the aforementioned groups.
