Makkah : The National Water Company (NWC) of Saudi Arabia announced the distribution of nearly one billion litres of water in Makkah and the holy sites on the Day of Arafah.
The NWC reported that 286 million litres were allocated to the holy sites, while over 704 million litres were distributed within Makkah. Water distribution was managed through public networks operating around the clock, under the supervision of company engineers and monitors from operations and maintenance centres covering Makkah and the holy sites.
The NWC confirmed that their operations and water supplies are proceeding as planned to serve the pilgrims, with continuous pumping to the holy sites and the facilities of the Grand Mosque. In Makkah, water is supplied to serviced neighbourhoods for an average of 21 hours per day. The company assured there have been no significant interruptions in their operations, and field teams remain fully prepared to address any emergencies.
On the Day of Arafah, the company conducted more than 4840 laboratory tests to ensure the quality of water provided to pilgrims, utilising both fixed and mobile laboratories in Makkah and the holy sites.
