Manama :The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) participated in a high-level humanitarian visit led by the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of South Sudan to the Gorom Refugee Camp in Juba.
The visit brought together delegations from several countries and regional and international organisations, reaffirming solidarity with displaced communities, particularly Sudanese refugees affected by conflict.
The delegation was headed by Shaikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates. The RHF was represented by Hassan Abdulaziz Murad, Director of Information Technology, accompanied by senior officials from South Sudan. Bertukan Ayano, State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, also took part in the visit, alongside ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps in South Sudan.
Murad expressed the RHF’s pride in taking part in the visit, noting that the Kingdom’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting international humanitarian efforts and strengthening partnerships aimed at assisting vulnerable communities and improving their quality of life.
The visit included the distribution of food and relief aid to refugees and provided an opportunity to observe first-hand the daily challenges faced by those living in the camp, particularly during the holy month of Ramadhan. The visit coincided with Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed on the 19th of Ramadhan each year, which reflects the values of generosity and compassion that characterise the UAE’s humanitarian outreach.
This initiative forms part of a broader series of humanitarian efforts aimed at enhancing regional and international cooperation, intensifying humanitarian response, and fostering sustainable development solutions for refugees in the region.
