Manama : The Council of Representatives has expressed pride in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm, unequivocal historical stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.
The Council of Representatives praised the statement issued by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, confirming the Council’s statement regarding the return of the Bahraini Ambassador to Tel Aviv to the kingdom, the departure of the Israeli Ambassador and the suspension of direct flights between the two countries.
The Council lauded the approach adopted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to consolidate security, stability and peace, in addition to reaching a just settlement to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative, in a way that would guarantee the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Council of Representatives highlighted Bahrain’s official and public stance on the need to stop the aggression on the Gaza Strip, protect the lives of civilians, in accordance with the International Humanitarian Law, secure humanitarian corridors, and spare the region the repercussions of violence, as well as back the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
“The Bahraini citizens, of all sects, do not and will not differ on their national fundamentals, among which is support for the Palestinian cause,” the Council of Representatives emphasised in its statement.
