Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Royal Police Academy (RAP) Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan chaired the 48th meeting of the Council held virtually.
Al Hassan praised the members’ diligence and tireless efforts to develop scientific and training curricula and stressed moving forward with the implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Academy of Police.
They include focusing on the high quality of educational and training programs and the continuous development of curricula to keep pace with security changes and challenge increases.
The meeting reviewed proposed designs and requirements for the launch of the model training village at the Academy based on the directives of the board of trustees and aiming to support the theoretical aspects through real-life simulation.
The village features the latest technologies in the security field and the world of crime, which empowers the trainees to be fully aware of the developments through theoretical and practical training.
The meeting also discussed the proposed training program for volunteers to serve in the public security.
The Council also discussed a proposal to establish a Center for Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation for Governance of Academic Tasks and Administrations according to a systematic management, in line with higher education institutions.
A report on the interactive forum “COVID-19 and the future of education and training in police academies and colleges” was presented by the commander of the officer training college.
The forum, held in Dubai, addressed the future of education in police academies and colleges and discussed the possibility, advantages and challenges of switching to distance education.
