Doha : The State of Qatar welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel, expressing its hope that this agreement will serve as a solid foundation for achieving stability and comprehensive, sustainable peace.
According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar stated that the recent Iranian attack on Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace is part of a dangerous escalation in the region, stressing the need for collective action to deter any irresponsible acts. The ministry also reiterated Qatar’s commitment to its role as a supporter of peace and stability through the principle of good neighbourliness and support for all efforts aimed at defusing crises.
The ministry expressed Qatar’s appreciation for the efforts of US President Donald Trump in reaching this agreement, expressing hope that both parties will adhere to it to ensure lasting and comprehensive stability in the region and the world.
