Makkah : Pilgrims at the Grand Mosque today performed Tawaf Al Ifadah in an atmosphere filled with faith and spirituality, amidst a distinguished and integrated system of services provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Pilgrims arrived at the Grand Mosque to perform Tawaf in a safe and sanitary environment. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque undertook the sanitisation and cleansing of the Grand Mosque, including the Mataf area, corridors, and courtyards, using advanced equipment both before the arrival and after the departure of the pilgrims from the Grand Holy Mosque.
The Presidency prepared designated pathways for the entry of pilgrims with systematic plans, procedures, and mechanisms to manage crowds, ensuring their safety, security, and comfort. This was achieved through effective and continuous coordination and communication with all relevant entities at the Grand Mosque.
Furthermore, the Presidency implemented a comprehensive air conditioning system to provide clean cool air throughout the Grand Mosque and to cool external areas and roads leading to the Grand Mosque. To maintain the safety of guests of the Merciful, crowd control measures were organised in collaboration with relevant authorities to accommodate the numbers of pilgrims and to prepare all services to enable them to perform their rituals with ease. Additionally, the Presidency ensures the washing of the Grand Mosque, its roof, and courtyards around the clock.
