Manama : Al Noor International School has been invited to reinstate its commitment to the Oxford
Quality Programme by Oxford University Press after three extremely successful academic years at the school since the historic partnership was agreed in November 2021.
The Oxford Quality Programme is an agreement between Oxford University Press and selected schools around the world that share a commitment to excellence in the teaching. Al Noor International School was the first school in the Gulf region to be invited to take part in the partnership in 2021 in recognition of the strong emphasis it places on the effective teaching of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and the high standard of its practice and pupil outcomes in these areas.
The second certificate of participation was handed to School Chairman Mr. Ali Hassan in a ceremony at the school. Mr. Hassan said ‘To be the only school in the Gulf region to receive such a high accolade in 2021 was tremendously satisfying after the years of hard work nurturing and growing our school culture, so to receive the Oxford Quality Mark for a second time truly validates the values and standards we hold so precious at Al Noor and shows the trust that Oxford University place in us a high quality institute of learning.’
Since gaining the award in 2021, the school has worked closely with Oxford University Press to capitalize on the resources available to them and to take part in world class teacher training programmes, raising standards at the school further.
The School Director, Dr. Muhammad Mashood, Acting Principal, Mr. Abdul Rahman Kooheji and other school officials along with officials from Oxford University Press Ms. Jennifer Duggan, Schools and Qualifications Regional Manager, Gulf and Ms. Gill West, Senior Schools Relationship Manager attended the event.
