The Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with its foreign diplomatic missions to communicate with all citizens located outside Bahrain to arrange their evacuation trips.
The Ministry began evacuating citizens in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National team to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) in line with medical preparations in Bahrain and in accordance with the standards approved by the World Health Organization.
Over 3,800 Bahraini citizens have been evacuated from various countries until now, and still the work is ongoing to evacuate the remaining citizens before the next May.
Citizens have been returned from India, Jordan, Egypt, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Emirates, Oman.
The instructions issued by the official authorities were translated into several languages (English, Hindi, Urdu, Filipino, Bengali) and awareness of the virus prevention methods.
“Coordination is continuing with the concerned authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain to facilitate the import of some medical and nutritional products from sister and friendly countries to enhance the medical and food stocks for the Kingdom of Bahrain during this stage”, said Dr. Sheikha Rana Bint Isa Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
