Davos : On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, led a high-level Bahraini delegation which participated in the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting. The Forum was held from 19 to 23 January in Davos, Switzerland, under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue.”
During the visit, and on behalf of His Majesty the King, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman participated in the signing ceremony of the Board of Peace charter.
The Charter was also signed by His Excellency Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, and His Excellency Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morrocco formally ratifying the Board of Peace as an international organisation.
During the Forum, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman, along with the delegation, took part in bilateral meetings, roundtable discussions, and high-level strategy sessions, highlighting Bahrain’s progress across economic diversification, sustainability, and innovation. During the visit, His Highness also visited the pavilions of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the strength of the bilateral ties and opportunities for future collaboration.
In addition to engaging with partners around the world on a range of key issues including strengthening relationships, the delegation also participated in key sessions exploring themes driving the global agenda. HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa spoke on a senior panel session titled, “New Dawn for Entrepreneurship?” which looked at the role of AI in reshaping traditional career paths, how emerging technologies and evolving regulations enhance entrepreneurship, and the future of AI.
HE Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif participated in the session, “A Prosperity Agenda for the Middle East,” which focused on how renewed growth, alongside an increased investment in frontier technologies, infrastructure, and new industries could reshape the economic landscape of the Middle East and North Africa.
The Bahraini delegation included several senior government officials, including HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat); HE Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB); HE Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat; Hamad Yaqoub Al Mahmeed, Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office; Yusuf Buhejji, Undersecretary for Research and Projects in the Prime Minister’s Office; Sara Buhejji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority; HE Iain Lindsay OBE OB, Advisor to the Board at Bahrain EDB; Khalid Taqi, Chairman of the Gulf Air Group; as well as other senior officials from Bahrain’s public and private sectors.
