Manama : Various children participated in the “Mawrooth School” initiative organised by the Bahrain Inherited Traditional Sports Committee (Mawrooth) as part of the 10th edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Season for Falcons and Hunting.
The event, spanning three weeks, is designed for youth aged 8 to 16 to engage them in educational activities focused on Bahraini heritage.
The programme aims to promote traditional Bahraini culture by introducing participants to Arabian horse and camel breeds and showcasing efforts to preserve them. It combines lessons on Bahraini history, customs, and culture with practical training in horseback riding, camel handling, and falconry.
Mohammed Al Mohammed, head of Mawrooth School, emphasised the initiative’s role in preserving and transmitting heritage to future generations. He noted its aspiration to foster patriotism and pride in Bahraini identity while teaching traditional practices such as hospitality, tea and coffee preparation, and cultural etiquette.
The first phase took place at the Bahrain International Endurance Village last week, with the second phase continuing this weekend.
